Town Lake Park

January 22, 2010

It’s January in Texas, which of course means it’s time for…swimming. It being 80 degrees outside, and we being restless after several rainy days stuck inside, we all wandered over to Town Lake Park to hang out. We climbed the big hill to play on the map, where Henry befriended some other kids just long enough to borrow one of their bikes. When he was done with that, he demanded some time in the water jets. He did some crazy splashing for about an hour, until the sun went down and his lips started turning blue. Guess it’s January after all.

George, of course, never knew he was even at a park, since he slept the entire time. But we like to think that was his way of enjoying the nice weather. Check out these pics of Henry mugging in his new “cool glasses” and showing great enthusiasm for the water fountain.

George Comes Home

January 2, 2010

After 30 days in intensive care and a few false starts, George Marvin was dismissed and sent home- monitor and medicine free! When the doctor told us it was for sure, we both just cried tears of relief- finally our boy would be safe and healthy and we could all be under one roof together. After two years of three pregnancies, three hospital stays, six weeks of bedrest, more than enough needles and plenty of stress and hope, it was all happening! We arrived at our home with our new baby with family, balloons, food and flowers awaiting. It was the best.

Christmas

December 27, 2009

With George in the NICU, it was hard to be everywhere all together. But, Santa did come and Henry really loved every minute of it. His uncle Shannon convinced him to create a “beard” of whipped cream (Thanks Shannon!). Henry’s Aunt Bliss, Uncle Minsok and Cousin Hanna moved back to Austin just in time for the holidays. George wasn’t left out all though- Santa visited the NICU and confused a lot of little babies, including George. But it was all very cute, of course.
